I'm learning what I can do and what I can't. I already know I 'feel' a great deal of what comes in, I have some clairvoyant and am working on hearing things. I've always done most of this so I'm not sure what is called what and am learning the terms only now.
I do believe we can all learn any skill we want, its a matter of wanting it.
To comment on one thing... Is it a gift or power? yes, to both. A gift because you can help so many people. And yes, to power because you can actual use it this way if you choose to. I prefer not to because it won't really get me what I want and it could hurt many people I like.
I will also add, it feels like a curse at times. Like when I knew a boyfriend was cheating before I had proof of it. That was really hard to deal with. And in that case, it didn't shorten the time I was with him because my thinking side thought I needed physical proof. But overall it isn't something I would give up ever or not want to learn more about.

Here is a list of some and definitions from a website below but what i am talking about is by their definition is precognition someone that can read the future like Sylvia Browne just an example can that be taught and how do you get there?

Types of Psychic Abilities


Animal Telepathy - The ability to communicate with (but not command or influence) various kinds of creatures. Think "pet psychic".


Astral Projection - The ability to leave one's body and travel in spirit to another location.

Aura Reading - The ability to see the energy fields that emanate from living beings. Psychic ability can often reveal itself throught the seeing of auras.

Automatic Writing - Writing through the subconscious mind without conscious thought, or through the guidance of an outside intelligence.

Channeling - Associated with mediums, this is the ability to act as a channel or vessel for an outside intelligence.

Clairaudience - Put simply, this type of ability is used to hear what is "inaudible". For example, someone with this ability could be a thousand miles way and "hear" a loved one's cry of distress.

Clairvoyance - Usually confused with Precognition, this ability actually has much more in common with "Remote Viewing", True clairvoyance is not the abilitly to see into the future, but the psychic ability to see visions of that which is hidden or far away.

Clairsentience - In this instance the psychic has an insight or "knowing" of and a hidden or forgotten fact.

Divination - A broad term that includes fortune telling, precognition, prophesy, and other methods used in an effort to predict the future.

Dowsing - Also known as "water witching", dowsing involves the use of a rod, sticks, or pendulum to locate water or lost objects.

Empathy - The talent to sense the needs, drives, and emotions of another. As with Aura Reading, psychic ability can often reveal itself through the development of empathy.

E.S.P. - Extra Sensory Perception is the awareness of information about events external to the psychic that are not gained through the senses and not deducible from previous experience. Often used to describe clairvoyance, precognition, telepathy, etc...

Intuition - Similar to clairsentience, this is the power or faculty of attaining direct knowledge or cognition without rational thought or inference.

Levitation - The ability to cause one's body to hover off the ground. One of the more well-documented cases of levitation involved St. Theresa of Avila during the 16th century.

Mind Over Body - Suppressing or mentally satisfying the need for water, food, or sleep. There is some debate over whether this is actually a psychic ability since many of those who are associated with this trait (monks, yogis, mystics, etc...) are not generally called "psychics".

Precognition - Quite simply, "knowing the future". However, since time is a dynamic construct, no one psychic can ever know every detail about the future. Usually this ability refers to knowing general outcomes of specific courses of action, with occasional flashes of detailed insight.

Psychometry - Also known as "object reading", psychometry enables a psychic to pick up on psychic impressions (vibrations) left on an object by someone connected with it. Someone with this ability could use an unfamiliar object to reveal much about its owner.

Pyrokinesis - The ability to start fires with one's mind.

Telekinesis - Also known as psychokinesis, the ability to move objects with one's mind.

Telepathy - The ability to communicate mind-to-mind with another.

My strongest is empathy, I've had experiences with hearing;most of the time just my name, seeing;usually in dreams or just before sleep but most recently my Reiki attunement, knowing things;most of the time I do tend to chald that up as womans/mothers intuition, and I've had a few experiences with astral travel. the craziest thing that has happened, actually has happened twice; laying on the couch relaxing, thought I was still sleeping because I tried to get up but couldn't, the messed up part was that I was looking at myself laying on my husbands lap. I kept trying to move my hand, anything, and couldn't until I calmed down, my entire body felt like when your had or foot does when it falls asleep, and then I was fine. That's happened twice and only when I wasn't trying to do it. Other than that it's never that dramatic, but I've traveled. These gifts I really think I could enhance if I had a teacher, but I'm sure when I'm supposed to have one they will come.

Oh I also met my healing guide, actually saw her and hear her voice. I'm not certain, but I think we were in an era that was her time. Beautiful gardens, huge white pillars, white dress, almost seemed like what you'd see in ancient Rome or something, and her hair was almost to her knees in the back. I wasn't able to see her face until the second time we spoke.

HI Lisa,

I have been asking God questions about these powers for years. Every time I do, I meet someone that has the answers. When I meet someone like this, I ask them all kinds of questions. They answer them. I asked a young woman if she would give me her email. I got it but every time I try to contact her, her mailbox is full. I gave her mine too. But never heard from her again. I think some of these people are Angel's helping me.
I don't know what to tell you about seeing your own body. I have never done this at all. I think your powers are stronger than mine. You should be learning all you can when you see yourself. If you have kids go check on them. Just stay calm and try not looking at your body. Do what you want and then come back and calm yourself and return to your body. Don't be afraid, God does not give us anything we can not handle.
I have a spirit guide but she only shows up when I really ask for her. I think she comes to me in different forms of humans. I have been talking to her quite a bit lately.

Ken,
The first time it happened I was terrified! Even the second time I was scared, but calmer. I didn't even think to go anywhere I was just trying to figure out how to get back in. Crazy huh? I wasn't trying to do anything then. It was awhile ago. I've been trying to learn as much as I can, but until recently haven't been able to find people to learn from so I've only been learning through books, interenet, and trial and error. Things are coming together so quickly lately. I'm being drawn to things that I wouldn't have taken the time to do before. I guess it's true that things happen for a reason. I'm finding that with all the problems my diability has caused in my life, it's also made me take the time to look at myself, take the time to learn about my spirituality and why I'm here. Why things happen to me, and what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm hopeing it happens again soon now that I've learned more about it. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hi Seshmet,

I have seen two people aura's but they both died within 3 days. I do not like this about myself but I am dealing with it. I can put my hand above anyone's head and tell how healthy they are. I have just used this power to make the swelling go down on a woman that I know on her wrist. She is 70 years old. I could see the swelling go away within about 30 seconds. She called me an Angel. I can feel the energy flow between me and about anyone I have ever done it to before. But I did meet one woman that had no feeling. I found out later that she was wasting away for a lover that will be in prison for another 50 years. She is 50 right now too.
I am an Empath and I have felt the pain of many people and a woman that is a ghost that was hanging in the middle of the road in a small fog bank. I could see her face and tears in her eyes. I drove by the abandoned farm house for over 3 years around 5 AM and there was no power but the lights would be on. I have seen several ghosts and usually can tell if they are around.
I pay attention to my dreams now because they have come true. I leave my body some nights and travel to amazing places that are hard to describe. I have tried to look at my body but never see it. I have feelings that I do not ignore anymore. Like I should stay home or not go somewhere.
When I was young I could bend a fork in half with my mind but I can not seem to do it now. I have done some Telepathy with one person over the years. I can do Divination but I do looking for buried underground utilities. I have tried the way of a Willow tree for water but did it only once. I want to try doing this more, Automatic writing, channeling. To end this I will tell you I found a rock that I knew had special powers to it. I could heat the rock so hot that I could not handle it. I gave it to a woman that had breast cancer back in 2000 and she is still alive and made the small green rock into a necklace.

I actually believe everyone has some power or gift even if it is intuition. i actually hid alot of mine in my childhood being adopted with aparents that were non believers i kept alot of stuff to myself with fear of them sending me away or not caring about me because i the gifts so as a young person i never pursued them as much as i have since i turned 40 by what i see and talk to others it is a wonder I have any at all now by curbing them this long. I think my believing system is the one that kept me striving for something more and kept them strong. My belief is i believe in anything, now prove it wrong , if you can prove it wrong then i wont believe it is true. example UFO, faries etc. I am a believer and feel anything can be possible. I strive to better myself thru believing, reading and doing experiments even. Ken you have remarkable gifts. I would love to learn how to be a clairvoyant one that can see the future. Someone suggested remote viewing so i am going to try that next. I had a small mini course in that once but didnt do well at that time. Maybe this time it will be different since i am older and wiser LOL.

I think my strongest is empathy. (I don't know if I have any more gifts or not.) I am not sure how exactly I use it. I've had this my whole life and thought it was 'normal' to feel things as I do.
I would love to learn other things as well. If they could be learned, that would be something I would like to try.

Animal telepathy i had one cat i could do that with i just knew what he wanted by his meow and his actions he was my pal when i was from 10-18. I ran an astral projection group years ago one thing i never could do is really see myself when i was out of the body i could go places but that is all. aura reading i can do that is i am in the right light and dark backgrounds but it takes time to do. automatic writing i have done with my guide guiding me to say and write things down they want said to someone i am treating i know they are not my words they talk differrently than I . Channel reiki energy i guess you can say i do that with my guides words he talks thru me but not control my body channel. Clairaudience yes i do hear spirits and entities if they are on my level of understanding/frequency. I do have visions of past things or view of past lives from me and others but future hardly ever. Clairsentience yes. Divination NO i cant do future stuff it seems. I use the pendulum alot in dowsing when i heal others it is a way of checking if i miss anything in scanning. Empathy is my strongest gift. Yes. EXP No i cant seem to do this , Intuition YES i think all woman do LOL, Levitation never tried it but have levitated other things not people. Mind over body-yes i try this often sometimes it works sometimes no, Precognition sometimes i might get feelings about something but not always right and future stuff seems hard for me, Pychometry NO tried it but nothing, Pyrokinesis once i did it as a teen but havent done or could do it since, TeleKinesis done a few times but not often. Telepathy yes i have been tested and have done this only to very very spiritual people with a moderator between us this was done about 10 years ago not sure i can do it now
Most of these gifts came later in life so i was not born with most. Future stuff not sure how to develop it so if anyone can help please help me.

http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/index.cfm?msg=2&ID=0&PWF=0&P... this is a link to a remote viewing site. You start there. As far as I know you can learn everything or anything you want to, you just have to want it. Remote viewing should get you in the habbit of seeing things that is somewhere else.

Hi Shesmet,

The things I have seen of the future usually lie between going and not going. I have had feelings about not going somewhere and the person I would have went with recked and I would have died if I would have went. This happened when I was 17, when I was about 24 I had a feeling that I should not go to work. I ignored the feeling and went. Nothing happened on the way to work. I was running a 1000 ton press that made about 20 hits to make a part. I was on the back side of the machine scrapping out the scrap metal. I was a long ways away from the emergency shut off and the machine made a false hit. Pieces of metal were flying out of the machine right by my head and hitting the brick wall behind me and taking chuncks out of it. The machine made about 5 more hits before I got it shut off. Whoever set up the machine did not check the safety on it. I told the bosses I wanted to go home. They said no and told me to go to the back room and pull a die out of a 50 ton press. I did it but when I went to put the metal stop blocks on it something inside me told me not to. I put the controller on inch and hit the buttons. The machine went on continuous. I told them again that I wanted to go home. I found out that the electrician wire the new machine backwards.If the stop blocks would have been on that machine I would have died. They told me no and told me to go the back and run the welder to rest of the day. I went to the back and sat there and cried the rest of the day. I made it through work and decided to go work out and get rid of the negative feelings I was having. I made it half way there and was driving through an Industrial park and came to a T intersection. I had the right of way. When I got there, I seen a semi coming from the left of me. I seen he was not going to stop and there was nothing I could do. He hit me in the driver door and knocked me out. His bumper when all the way to the center of my steering wheel. Some how my seat belt broke or I would have been beheaded. When I was knocked out there was a woman there talking to me and telling me to stay calm everything would be alright. I woke up and the cop told me there was no woman there and he was sure I was died. My back was messed up, I had a major concussion, glass in my eyes and I threw up for a couple days. I could not get out of bed for months and could not see any light. I could not work for almost two years
What a hard lesson to learn. If I have a feeling or dream about something and I start to see it come true. I stop everything and do the opposite of what I was going to do. But it always is about something bad that will happen to me. I want to know how to turn on the good things that will happen to me. But I am thankful and happy that I get a heads up to the bad things.
